Measuring players' values:
Thunder get PJ
Mavs get Wiggins, Joe, #12 and #37
Mavs get #18
Hornets get Gafford and either #30 or #48
Hawks get Klay and either #30, #37 or #48
Mavs get #23
The pick that goes to Atlanta depends on what contract ballast goes to Dallas (ex. taking on Hield's remaining two seasons)
Mavs get #14, Josh Green, Grant Williams
Hornets get Gafford and Naji*
Of all the above players, I could see Naji being the player that Masai sees as being a good veteran to hang onto relative to his chemistry with Cooper, cheap contract and that he openly wants to be here.
Edit: I'm not advocating for 8,328,535 picks. Rather, if Masai/Schmitz like someone in the Draft, here's what they could trade to get up there.
I wonder if they did two trades (netting, let's say, #12 and #18), how high could two of those get you? Let's say Brooklyn likes Ament, would they take #9 and #18 so that the Mavs could get their ideal PG rather than settling.
