EDITED TO ADD - I just saw the report that Kidd was the one who wanted the divorce. Maybe he saw there's no place to go in Dallas (with both Ujiri and Schmitz now in place, and experts at what they do) except do your job as coach, and he didn't want to be in a situation like that.
As an aside, I would think this means Dumont is NOT paying him a $40M contract buyout after all.
