If Riccardi and Finley are still the guys when we pick, I don't give a rat's hiney who they pick; that player will have to earn my allegiance on the court, because there'll be no reason on the planet for me to trust the pick. If it's Presti, Stevens, or even Lindsay, I'll trust the pick regardless of who it is unless/until proven otherwise.
I kinda go the other way - I’m interested in a great decision, regardless of who has input into it. Ideally, many knowledgeable people have a voice.
Why? Sometimes “experts” are just wrong. Sometimes “rookies” are brilliant. Uriji used to be an expert, until he wasn’t.
A good decision is a good decision, regardless of who makes it. And sometimes it can’t be accurately evaluated until some significant time has passed.
