I find it funny that people's noses are turned up soooo much about the picks. 1sts, 2nds. whatever. There are 5 more picks in the chest than there were yesterday, including a 2nd pick in the upcoming draft a lifetime everyone is talking about. Can that be used to move up just a little from wherever their own pick lands? Maybe. Can they find another Brunson type with it? Maybe.
I get that they aren't even close to premium picks, but yesterday people were convinced AD wouldn't fetch a single pick, and not only did he go for expiring contracts, but WAS ate a TON of money on THIS YEAR'S payroll...AND they got 5 picks. You normally have to pay draft capital to pull off a deal like this. I don't know if it was the right move, but I do think it marked a higher value for AD than what this board had convinced itself was factual, and I for one am happy to be out from under the worry of him being hurt all the time. In a sense, it's just nice to have this Luka trade chapter behind us, to whatever extent that will ever be possible.
Cow was talking about our "sub-par front office." What about our FO when we hire a real GM? He'll have the flexibility to do something really savvy. If he doesn't make hay with it, that would indicate they hired the wrong guy.
