Yeah I thought the Cavs had actually moved up much further in the standings with their hot form. They are now within reach of the 28th pick, but as it stands they are still 19th and that is too much to give up for Gafford.
Nevertheless we need to focus on the Poeltl angle. The size of that trade exception and the Mavs inside track on Poeltl via AD negotiations is the most interesting subplot now. If they can get the Raptors 2026 1st, a future protected 1st and get rid of Martin, I´d give them an A+ for the AD trade.
