Bucks may have their last good pick for awhile if this season goes downhill. Atl gets the better pick of bucks or NO. The bucks get the other pick. Best case is they get a top 5 pick. They could take that player and get Giannis buyin or trade that pick for a player. Much more likely is they move Giannis and hope this years pick is added for one of the developmental pieces for the next team.
I would also be looking to move Kuzma and Turner. Man, how bad has that GM’s moves been? I believe he got an extension recently too.
The Bucks and Pelicans picks could really both end up top 3, giving the Bucks one of the 3 franchise players in this draft (it really doesn’t matter which one you get), saving them from a decade of utter ruin, and even setting them up to get back into contention pretty quickly if they make the right Giannis deal. It’s the same sort of low probability event that rescued the Mavs and seems to happen more than mathematically expected in the NBA. Weird. You can almost count on that scenario, with Atlanta being the unwitting beneficiary (since they must draft higher than the Bucks) and pretty much foreclosing other teams tanking possibilities. Of course, this is just food for thought for conspiracy nuts, but it’s on brand for the league.
