So, much improved play, individual improvements, excellent chemistry in spite of having no real floor general/backcourt attacker. If this were to continue, with no injuries to the guys currently playing, this is probably a tip-top of the play-in/6th seed level team - that has no chance whatsoever of making the second round. Not sure you sacrifice a tank in an important draft for that.
The Mavs are in a tough spot. Trading AD does nothing to improve their tank - they're better without him. Besides, if he brings back absolutely anything that's useful in the present, it will hurt the tank more. Many here agree that Naji doesn't fit. He's shown himself to be worth, at the absolute worst, a late first round pick, but will any team give that up for him? And how to evaluate the future fit of all of the other players not named Flagg or Christie?
This is a really bad time not to have a competent and experienced GM.
