In addition to whatever longterm assets DAL is able to pull from this, they've got to be salivating over the prospect of watching Porzingis AND Kennard slide right off of their books this summer. That's a pretty huge chunk of relief.

Its huge.  The Mavs currently have the 4th largest payroll.  Not where you want to be when trying to rebuild.  Its hard to get anything done when pinned up against the 2nd apron.  Its the biggest reason you don't just ride with AD as it would be another two years after this one of his massive rising salary.
