The issue is the Mavs and others don’t view him as an expiring. He certainly seems to be much more willing to pick up that option looking at the market winds. That is why Dallas has no interest. If he was expiring, I don’t think Dallas would have issue with him if other assets were attached.
Zach was promising last year. He has slipped this year. Could be a developmental bump. Last year though for most of the year AD was a top 10 player, so Dallas can make the same case with their package. I think ATL is the best guess for a trade, but I think it is more likely AD is her for the rest of the year. Hopefully build up his value some.
I also give no value what the hawks are saying on Zach. Maybe they are honest. More likely the Zach talks already happened and they couldn’t come up with a package of the assets with Zach. They are probably pissed the word leaked and of course come out strong. Don’t buy that they he has not been discussed. It is probably both sides moved on from…for now.
