It wasn't only the age that should have fetched much more for Luka and would have if he were actually shopped in the league but its the relative chance that Luka could get in shape and offer many healthy seasons vs the relative chance the Anthony Davis will offer many healthy seasons.
AD doesn't have a single persistent injury worry which in one sense offers some hope but on the other hand we see that he hasn't had full healthy seasons since he was in much younger body. Nico should have pushed this point to get a much better return in a trade IF it was going to be made at all.
Yup, done is done. But with skinny Luka in town now it's not likely to go away as a Dallas nagging discussion any time soon if ever. Best scenario with AD would be to get a fully healthy season of all star AD and then trade out while he's healthy for younger assets on the Cooper timeline, ideally after getting a ring.
