In looking at AD's stats, dude is insanely good (when healthy). ....

True, insanely good when healthy, which is why I can see how Nico could be so infatuated with his 'when healthy' value that he made the massive mistake of selling Luka so far short on comparative value.   
It wasn't only the age that should have fetched much more for Luka and would have if he were actually shopped in the league but its the relative chance that Luka could get in shape and offer many healthy seasons vs the relative chance the Anthony Davis will offer many healthy seasons. 

AD 32 yrs vs Luka 26 yrs - What are the chances? 

• Davis has only played more than 75 games in a season three times in his career.  
  
• 2016-2018: Two relatively healthy seasons, playing 75 games both years
  
• His injury frequency and variety have earned him a reputation for being injury-prone, especially concerning lower-body soft-tissue and joint issues.
  
• Recent seasons have included more core muscle and serious eye injuries, showing new types of durability concerns as he moves into the later part of his career.
  
  

This comprehensive pattern illustrates a player persistently affected by injuries from nearly all major body areas throughout his NBA tenure. 

AD doesn't have a single persistent injury worry which in one sense offers some hope but on the other hand we see that he hasn't had full healthy seasons since he was in much younger body.   Nico should have pushed this point to get a much better return in a trade IF it was going to be made at all. 

I've decided it's time to just accept AD and get over the trade.  Flexing that emotional IQ.  If the Mavs are to be successful the next 2 years it'll be through AD. 

Yup, done is done.  But with skinny Luka in town now it's not likely to go away as a Dallas nagging discussion any time soon if ever.   Best scenario with AD would be to get a fully healthy season of all star AD and then trade out while he's healthy for younger assets on the Cooper timeline, ideally after getting a ring.
