A couple of outlets are saying that, if Orlando becomes a contending East team, then the picks might not actually mean that much.

But I agree that it was a sorry negotiation by Nico and he's done nothing to inspire confidence since.

If we follow that logic of that argument to it's conclusion then teams should be asking for even more picks.  In reality, you just use the selfishness of negotiation in that hope that one of those picks lands during a down year for that team or that team gets blown up sometime down the line before those picks convey and that aligns with a strong draft.
