The worst possible outcome here is for Nico to trade down and get "a brother" instead. Like -- having 2 picks in the first round instead of one, and then both turn into duds.
Flagg at least to me -- looks legit. Not better than Dirk or Luka, but somewhere around Paul George, hopefully he wouldn't get the same career arc like him.
I'd be willing to have a few losing seasons while seeing Flagg develop into the Mavs franchise player than having a Giannis-AD championship trophy. It wouldn't feel like a Mavs championship to me anyway.
