Game 72: Dallas Mavericks (34-37) vs. Brooklyn Nets (23-48)

To me a MAJOR part of their process has to be them figuring out roster space and room under Apron 2, and perhaps as bodies are moved there is a PG that gets added. Right now (including their pick), they have 13 returning players whose contracts are guaranteed, plus 5 more they can potentially bring back (Exum, Dinwiddie, Williams, Edwards, Jones), but that adds up to 17 for a 15-man roster. Something has to happen.

I've had this feeling ever since the Lonzo extension that he would end up here.  He makes just under Powell + Hardy (so no hard cap trigger).  It also opens up a roster spot and a position of need for Jones to potentially take the Powell (Mahimni) spot on the roster (has he really matured or are we just desperate?).

One thing about Ball is he fits the seeming requirement of having a significant injury history.
