Game 72: Dallas Mavericks (34-37) vs. Brooklyn Nets (23-48)

I might have said we have too many wings between Christie, Naji and Martin (Butler, Stevenson and Brewer), but after this season, I’ll never say that again (plus, Kyrie and Thompson are going to miss games).

The question then becomes who is Kidd and how do we get him?

Yes on the comparisons.

The PG to fill Old Man Kidd's shoes? I had thought Kidd had Exum in mind, but his inability to stay healthy may have killed that. Do they still value Exum (at least as a piece of the answer), or do they want to move on?

Is there anyone in the 10-15 draft spot range who could help? Someone in Europe?

I do see them perhaps minimizing their dependence on the PG by forcing an opponent to contend with a huge frontcourt, so all they need is a guy who can reliably get the ball up court, play strong D, pass the ball to feed others, and hit a shot here and there. Makes me wonder if they'd do something like that by committee (and use lesser guys). Is Williams truly ready for a bigger role?

To me a MAJOR part of their process has to be them figuring out roster space and room under Apron 2, and perhaps as bodies are moved there is a PG that gets added. Right now (including their pick), they have 13 returning players whose contracts are guaranteed, plus 5 more they can potentially bring back (Exum, Dinwiddie, Williams, Edwards, Jones), but that adds up to 17 for a 15-man roster. Something has to happen.
