Lakers did Mavs a solid by winning against Minny and twice against Clippers. Now the "third tier" of West conference is within just half a game and it will be a crazy run for the final playoff spot (I think a chance for one of them to get to fifth spot or higher is more or less theoretic at this point). lakers were a bit lucky in both games against Clippers, as they shot 30 % yesterday and even below that on Friday.
Lakers are facing a really tough schedule until at least March 20th with a combination of a bunch of games against top teams (NYK, Bos, Mil x2, Den x2) and games against bottom of the league in between. Starting with what I am affraid of as a trap game against Pelicans. In total 10 games in 16 days.
I am impressed by work done by JJ Reddick so far. Even with two starters out, he is not playing Luka and LeBron more than some 35-37 minutes per game. So far their defense is really impressive, but they relied a lot on focusing on the main guys leaving a lot of open shots to suspect shooters. I am very curious if they will try to play same way against teams like OKC and Boston, as I think this defense will have problems against such teams.
