Shams Charania has posted:

"Victor Wembanyama has a form of a blood clot in the right shoulder. He is out for the season. The Spurs believe this is an isolated condition."

Knowing the Spurs, I'm highly suspicious on this. My initial thought is that they are deftly making sure the tank for Flagg will be as effective as possible, even after adding Fox, by shutting down Wemby "out of an abundance of caution." The intentional, targeted tank has been their game plan for decades. They are basically in 9th lottery slot right now with 23 wins, but have a realistic shot of getting to 6th, from where a leap to the top 4 (all at equal odds for pick 1) would not be that surprising of an outcome.
