NBA contracts are NOT created from scratch. The wording is all standard, its total length is 46 pages including exhibits, created as part of the CBA (mutually agreed on by league and players' union), and then there are blanks to fill in.
The 1st 28 pages has the meat of the agreement with no moving parts - fixed wording, with blanks for date, player, team, length of contract, and agent (if any). It cannot be changed. The last 18 are 12 possible exhibits, but 9 would be obvious/super-easy with SGA:
Ex 1A that pays minimum -NA
Ex 1B designating player as 2-way - NA
Ex 2 compensation protection - 100%
Ex 3 prior injury exclusion - none
Ex 4 trade payments - max/15% of contract
Ex 6 physical exam required -yes
Ex 7 agreement to stay in shape and provide best effort - yes
Ex 8 sign-and-trade - NA
Ex 9 NG camp contract - NA
Ex 10 NG camp deal with tie to GL after waiver -NA
That leaves Ex 1 compensation ("max salary every year" is allowable wording afaik, but he might want wording as to an option year, and no incentives are allowed). Ex 2 compensation protection (which would be full, but has some possible negotiable parts on exceptions for prohibited activities), and Ex 5 other activities [that are allowed] which may be a matter of negotiation given the massive size of the deal.
SGA would certainly want a lawyer and expert on the CBA to help fill in the blanks and perhaps offer some guidance on some details like an option year, but as long as the team is in "whatever you want" mode, it's not going to take rocket science.
