New guys fit the culture we’re trying to create here. Reporter asked are you implying Luka didn’t fit the culture? Nico says I won’t bad mouth a player leaving here.

Defense wins championships. AD and Christie great defenders.

Unique things about Luka’s contract we had to pay attention to. We’d be on the clock if he didn’t sign the super max . No verbal from Luka’s camp he wouldn’t sign the super max.  (This is confusing)

They didn't say it, but it all points to the same thing: Harrison, at least, and possibly both Harrison AND Kidd, flatly don't believe Luka is a winner. Whether they're right or wrong remains to be seen, but what I can confidently express my feelings about now is that the execution of this pivot...the lack of reward for making a move like this...the idea that the franchise is just going to continue on as before, caring about "winning now"...the utter lack of ceremony, humility, etc, despite saying "we understand the magnitude of this" a few times...it all smacks of either shocking hubris, incompetence, or both. 

Again, this is coming from someone who doesn't need much arm twisting to believe that they've decided they can't win with a team built around Luka. I think this, in a way, vindicates some of us who've been critical of his lack of professionalism in the past, because imagine how sick of him they must be to do this, but...the return they got? Criminal.
