Regardless they are not a contender and I am not sure there is a path to make them a contender. They also don't have many assets. I think they hit on their first round pick but I am not sure what he is yet.
I think ideally if they could add a center and a bigger guard that would be a good place to start. Is it worth giving up all their assets though? I think Walker Kessler would be great for them. I just don't know if he is gettable at a reasonable price. Then if you could upgrade the DLo spot...that would be a better fit.
Just not sure it really matters
I think we are watching the death throes of the LBJ Lakers era. LBJ is no longer able to drag a team to the playoffs, much less a championship. AD can't do it alone, is on the wrong side of 30 and you know injury will find him at some point. Everyone else is either somewhat short on NBA experience or NBA skills. Add in off season stunts like using assets to draft Bronnie (just to appease LBJ and Rich Paul, IMO), and LAL has turned into a circus. They do have a lot of their own draft picks over the next several years, but what max-level star wants to go there and be expected to lead that group to anything meaningful?
