With guys like Klay around him, it is a much more difficult decision for the opponents to double Luka. Of course so far this season, Luka mostly hasn't been an efficient scorer. But, we have 5 seasons of data to believe things will get back to "normal" sooner than later.

I think this has been the calculus Luka has had since arriving in Dallas.   If they don't double, he can murder teams.  If they do double, he will pass to the open man for an open shot.  Tough to argue with that (even though I am not crazy with that style of play) as we typically have very good offenses due to Luka.   I just think the talent has increased where we don't need to treat everyone like DFS.  IE...you get the ball when you are wide open.  With Klay and a few others, they need to get more touches to find some rythem.

The thing I have never liked is the early possession, no pass three pointers to begin games.  Now, it is easy to forget when he was shooting near 40% last year.   I am just not a big fan of that type of play when the game is starting.  I have no idea what the Math says though if these are good shots.
