The ideal scenario for the Mavs is finishing 6 to avoid the play-in for one, but also to get a favorable match-up.
To me it looks like:
Clips are destined for 4 and Pels 5.
MIN without KAT is the most likely to finish at 3 of them, DEN, OKC.
DEN is the best in the West, they can finish 1 if that's their goal.
Suns have a brutal schedule and Kings also have a tough one, and frankly SAC isn't all that good imo.
1 DEN
8 LAL/GSW
4 LAC
5 NOP
3 MIN
6 DAL
2 OKC
7 PHX
I think Mavs get to 6. PHX beats SAC in the play-in to get 7. Then the winner of Lakers/Warriors beats SAC for the 8. Biggest thing for Mavs is if DEN can finish 1 then it becomes more likely that Mavs end up on the MIN/OKC side of the bracket instead of DEN/LAC.
