Let´s not forget that Barrett has been the driving force behind the Canadian national team re-surgence. He got them all to commit. He´ll be a huge fan favourite in Toronto. I think that´s a good reasonable haul for an UFA. Decent deal for both sides.

If you are a team without a good enough star and you don’t want to take time to rebuild through the draft…AND you believe Barrett has close to franchise player potential, then sure. It’s a great deal in the right light.

I’m just not a Barrett fan.
