The Suns were rolling and up on the Mavs. The Mavs then ran full court pressure and doubled Paul the rest of the series and tired him out. Neutralizing Paul neutralized the entire Suns offense.
By then it was easy for them to pick the Suns apart.
If anything, all that series showed is that Ayton requires a good PG to set him up. Thankfully we have one of those...
