Luka SD DFS RB McG
33 28 33 28 15  =  137

Wood THJ Kleber Green
28 27  23  20  = 98

You only have 5 minutes left over to do all of the following: (a) play some of the players above a few more minutes, (b) give minutes to any of Franky, Bertans, Hardy, Dorsey, Pinson, and © play Powell.

So who's getting shorted so that DP plays?

His assertion was 6-10 minutes for the first 20 games and you've carved out five already.  So, you aren't that far apart.  When THJ has come off the bench the last two seasons, he's gotten 25 and 26 instead of 27, so there is a minute or two.  Maybe Green gets 18 instead of 20.  Maybe DFS gets 32 instead of 33 (the only season he's played more than 32 was when he played 33 last season).  It isn't hard to get to Killer's assertion using your numbers and recent history.

I'm also not sure Wood is getting 28 in the first 20 games.  I think that's probably his season average assuming things go well, but maybe not to start.  It also seems like, based on the televised practice, that Wood may not get the center minutes most envisioned.  That means the potential for 48 center minutes being shared by McGee, Maxi and Powell...at least to start the season.

The trickier part is what combo of players does Powell play with.  If we play four lineups during a game...excluding overlaps (Starters, Finishers, bench with Luka and bench with SD), where does Powell fit.  Powell/Luka was a 2 point positive in the regular season and a 3.5 point positive in the playoffs.  Powell/Dinwiddie was a net neutral in the regular season and a plus 5 in the playoffs.  I like Powell with Luka, but that might be hard to do if Luka continues to play the entire first/third quarter.  The logical place to play Powell is a short run in the second/fourth as a way of setting up a closing lineup that includes Maxi/Wood.  I see those guys and Tim as the first off the bench in the first/third quarters and you have to get them off the court sometime in the second and fourth in order for them to finish the quarters.
