It has been a while. But, their last attempt to get one was one of the worst disasters in franchise history, and one they're still paying for.
The reason counting stats like points/rebounds don't provide any real insight is that they don't address synergistic play style, role, etc. The team's counting stats matter, but when individual players come in with the mindset that their job is to accrue them, cross-purposes can develop pretty quickly, as we've seen here in Dallas very recently.
If Wood wants to play the way Dallas thinks will support and enhance Luka's game and their offensive approach, then he'll probably be a good get. Porzingis did not, and so this is far from a guarantee.
