Is that a typo, or is "beer pockets" a reference with which I'm unfamiliar? I'm not trying to be a semantic internet dick, I truly want to know what you meant.

I was trying to reference the old phrase "you have champagne taste but beer pockets (or wallet)". I guess I was being too vague.

Essentially meaning you want expensive/fancy stuff but can't afford it.

I'm calling Cubes cheap.

Sounds like the beginning of the end in Portland.

I can already see it now. They get JKidd, trade McCollum. Run it back with their new roster that's not that much better than the old. Get the 6th seed yet again and are a first round exit next year.

Then Dame asks to be traded.

lol! That's awesome. I didn't know that reference (a little embarrassed) but I'm definitely stealing it.

Yeah, a part of me is really worried that Cuban has simply decided never to pay the luxury tax again, no matter what.

Harden has tweaked his hamstring is out for game one after 30secs.

Sounds like you're thinking of "champagne taste on a beer budget."

Like the "beer pockets" twist, though, lol.

Pistons fans watching this series probably wonder who this B.Griffin person is. Diving on the floor. Crashing the glass. Shooting from deep 3-point range. Cannot be the same guy that looked like he was ready to retire just a few month ago.

Gotta give @"SleepingHero" credit for Griffin. He told us all the dude would be a good pickup for someone this year, and I believe he was even in favor of the Mavs trying to trade for him at one point during this past off-season. I thought the dude was bonkers. But he was right, Blake had a little left in the tank!

I was all in on the Griffin + Bey + Stewart for KP trade that no one else wanted. Including the Pistons...

Big reason why we can't trade KP for less than the Vuc package. The FO won't let him go for this very fear IMO.

That's cause KP is white. Wouldn't fly with Jerami Grant.

I mean the Pistons have made some bad trades (Billups for Iverson) comes to mind. But you must be smoking some good weed, if you think Detroit is giving up their future for a injury prone, inconsistent 7'3 unicorn. But I agree about Blake. He shamed his way out Detroit. He supposedly couldn't dunk before he left, now look at him.

That was in late january/early february. Basically two mid firsts and matching bad salary. Pretty close to the inital KP trade that send him to Dallas. KPs value tanked. Bey and Stewart are on the rise. Not to mention that the Pistons had different plans. They wanted to tank. Makes no sense to add a high risk win now piece like KP.

Maybe we can trick the Bucks into a KP+THJ for Middleton+Lopez trade if they lose to the Nets

Maybe he will be out when they face the Mavs.

So Brooklyn's best player goes out in the first minute of game 1 against the only team left that could possibly beat them and they still win easily?

I have a feeling I won't enjoy the playoffs as much as I did last year. I really don't like Brooklyn, but this season (and probably the next few) seems like theirs.

So this. Not as dejecting as the Mavs' woes, but close. Imagine if the Mavs somehow got out of the West this year and got swept by those a-holes. Absolute misery.

AH! That's the other version I've heard! My grandparents always used pockets though so that's what I picked up on.  Big Grin

Hey a broken clock right at least twice a day! I saw Griffin and thought he could be that 3rd option that can at least create for others. I don't think he survives another 2 years in the NBA though. The Nets definitely got a steal in the short term.

Well, at least it isn't the Lakers.
I don't like Nets personal, except for Nash and MDA, but at least a franchise would get their 1st title
And we could continue making fun of Knicks too
