2020-2021 AROUND the NBA: Archived

Moses Brown going full Wilt Chamberlain tonight.  17 points, 19 rebounds in the first half against the Celtics.  Wow.

I couldn't name the Thunder coach if you told me his name.   But for me, he is the coach of the year.  They are getting good play from guys who would struggle to make a lot of rosters....I think.   It is really impressive how hard they fight.

There is a great than 1% that playoff P gags in the first round so I'm going to humbly disagree.

He's a good rebounder so that rules him out.

I stand corrected.

Detroit and Washington are the same. They play hard and are bad for sure, but they usually are in every game, and seldom get blown out. Detroit lost to the Nets the other night, and had a chance to win at the end.

Detroit has mastered the art of the sneaky tank. Play competitive basketball and let the tank commanders (Plumlee, DSJ, rookies) take over in the clutch.

I just noticed the top five Duffy clients are (Doncic, Lavine, Vucevic, Richardson, Dragic).

That´s probably our biggest, maybe only hope.

Extend THJ and Richardson.
Sign Dragic to the MLE in the off-season.
Lavine says he won´t sign an extension with Bulls. Vucevic has only 18th months left, too.

Offer at the TDL: Porzingis/Powell + four first round picks (two outright + two swaps) for Lavine/Vucevic.

Doncic/Brunson
Lavine/Dragic
Richardson/THJ
DFS/Kleber
Vucevic/WCS

The Lavine ship has sailed.  He's been too good and they're trying to win now.

Good line. I chuckled.

I wonder what we would look like had we kept Casey instead of RC.

That's surprising. Knicks Mitchell Robinson broke a bone in his foot against the Bucks. They need another 5 to play behind Noel. They have Taj Gibson also, but Dieng played for Thibs in Minnesota.

Yeah, but will they succeed?

Right now they are 10th. Do you think they can get into the top 6 to avoid the dangerous play-in?

Pacers just got LaVert back, arguably their top scorer. Heat added Oladipo, Bjelica and Ariza. Boston re-shuffled their deck. Atlanta has a real coach now. I actually thought the teams most vulnerable are the Hornets and Knicks, but they keep winning and are already four games up on the Bulls with just 25-28 games left. Who knows what the Raptors will do now that the Lowry situation is resolved. I´m not convinced this Vucevic move will pay immediate dividends. Imho it´s more likely the Bulls finish 11th than 6th.

Lavine has nothing to gain from signing an early extension financially, especially with a chance that everybody will be vaccinated by summer 2022, we return to some normalcy and see a big cap spike in 2022.

Though we are obviously still talking about the Mavs here and they haven´t done anything to set themselves up better for such a move. Instead they once again try the same sh*t as usual. Capspace, cause it worked so well the last ten times. Rolleyes

Great points. The Bulls while their moves I consider were upgrades, they really didn't address the defensive side of the ball either.  The East while not as good overall as the West, is still competitive. Nobody thought the Knicks and Hornets would be as good as they are at this point in the season.

I Ferguson really a total lost cause?

https://twitter.com/TheSteinLine/status/...3526638594

Edit: he is. He averaged 4 points in 22 minutes per game last season. No thanks.

He was a starter and rotation player in OKC just a few years ago. What the hell happened?

I haven't watched Austin Rivers play lately but his offensive style seems like the type Rick would like. He would be another guard that can make things happen off the bench.

so so envious of Denver after that Aaron Gordon Trade - so much talent in that starting line up
DFS will probably not see the light of day in that team, much less be a part of the starting 5
