Question is if they want to resign him in the summer. If not they might as well try to get some kind of return.

DG > Fournier

better fit at the starting 3 for us. DFS to the bench

There is far to much action and far too many attainable players for Dallas to be silent. If nothing is done here, they need to overhaul the FO.

Not necessarily. Any Gordon deal would use a salary match and not TPE space. Boston is close to hard capped after the Fournier deal, anyway, which is why they're talking about trading Theis or Thompson.

Right.  Boston essentially sent two 2nd round picks and $17 million in cash.

I have a feeling this place is going to be a powder keg of anger in a few hours. I hope not.

Can't we just enjoy this, guys? We have NO control over what happens, so what possible good will it do to come completely unglued and be ugly to each other? Just breathe before you type, I'm begging you all.

Maybe WCS+Johnson for DAJ, too. Big Grin

*wishes he was certain that it´s not actually a possibility*

Two 2nds for McGee (protected) or two 2nds for Fournier? Celtics can be really happy.

Good point on not taking back any salary.

Although, if I was a Magic fan, I would not be pleased if they passed a better deal just not to take back money.  Although maybe there wasn't a better deal.   Even if he is expiring, it sort of sucks to trade a guy for two seconds who averages close to 20 points.   I wouldn't be upset they moved him, but would like to have some asset back better than two seconds.

Yeah, no way Dallas could come anywhere close to matching that, if that's how the deal actually goes down (seems like they might still combine it with Gordon, in which case I'm not sure they can use the TPE).

But, for the third time, I want to point out that a portion of the Mavs' thinking MIGHT be partly about the understanding that they can't afford to re-sign Fournier over the summer. I really don't think Cuban's thriftiness is going away anytime soon.

Especially since most of these guys available at the deadline are way overhyped simply because they're available at the deadline.     Evan Fournier is THJ with chronic groin injuries and worse defense.    He's not going to move the needle for the Celtics against the Sixers or Nets in a 7 game series.

Yeah, that makes sense.   Rondo is not great on middle rung teams.  I wonder if this is just a dump or if the Clipps need to give up one of their few assets?

Man, I feel like this is one of the busier deadlines in quite some time. Am I imagining that?
