Case in point ^^^^
From my POV, it seems clear that at least a portion of their mission this summer (and maybe the number one portion) was to systematically go down the available PG list until they got one.
I'm just happy it wasn't Dinwiddie or Schroder, personally.

Yeah let’s bring in the 35 year old bench guard. Dragic isnt even better than Brunson st this point.
That would be a huge waste of time for everybody involved. Just a quick fix with a low ceiling. Yuck.

I can see it. We did try to trade for him at the TDL, right?
I guess the net/net would be that neither version of the MBT were surprised at the start of free agency with the Kemba/Lowry decisions. Improvement will be shown when we don't let Danny Green dangle us for weeks on end this time around.
I'd give the new MBT props right now for the Richardson deal but I just can't wrap my head around WCS.

Dragic (1 yr/$19M) makes SENSE for the Mavs....Lowry (3 yrs/$90M) not so much.

Just want to point out this was the 1 reporter who didn't vote for Luka in the ROY race. Luka would've been a unanimous ROY if not for this dude.
Who did he vote for? Trae Young.

We're talking about Lowry right? Totally agree.

That's exactly what it is, imo.
I DO believe Luka will fix that, but not while he's in his early 20's. These dudes are older and don't want anything to do with the young, cocky European, imo. At some point, Luka's hold over the game will be undeniable, and the majority of the league will be younger than him. They'll have grown up watching him, and they'll worship him the way today's players worship LeBron. THAT is when Dallas will be a free agent destination.

If we don't have to pay anything for Dragic, sure. If we give up an asset, that's a fail.

Brunson makes jump shots and layups
Dragic makes jump shots and assists
it's the secondary ball handler thing

But also, tweets stopped working for me on Mobile-Dark. Is that the case for others as well?
Mobile-Dark is what I typcially use on my phone, but now tweets don't work and (the long time bug) I can't see any posts past a deleted post for that page of posts. So I have to use that Mobile MyBB 1.8, which I hate.
Not complaigning though because I certainly don't have the skills to help with this stuff. Bow staff skills and nunchuck skills aren't much use on the internet.
Try the premium theme and see if you have the same issues...
Josh Green is a top 5 Mavs player...

Dragic alone would be an epic failure. Especiall if THJ is gone. If they go after Dragic it really comes down to the additional pieces they can add.

yeah you are right, but that was not my question.
even if we would get all our FA Targets it would be nice to know why it doesn't work back in the days.
i mean we had so much luck to get döörk and now luka. on paper there were so many FA combs that woudl have been brilliant but for what ever reason it didn't worked =(

For sure!
But, I NEVER believed it was going to be 3/$90M. I've written that about 11 times. I'll be pretty shocked if he gets that from Miami. Even if it's that number, I bet the third year will be a team option. They're running the same strategy Cuban has been for the past several years, right?
I think that contract float was an attempt by New Orleans to entice him, or maybe to suggest that New Orleans would pay it (by his people) to get Dallas or Miami to pony up.
At no point was I worried Dallas would actually pay that, personally.

I would say the exact same thing about Lowry.
I agree with your basic premise....but I am personally way happier with Dragic for 1 yr than Lowry for 3 yrs.

Why? So we burn 2/3 of our cap for one year of a bench guard? It feels like burning cap space as Luka extension will cover up that extra when he walks next year. Unless Powell is outgoing, this is incredibly bad use of resources.

But that number was reported as much or MORE often than the Mavs connection to Lowry. So why believe the Mavs connection but not the contract numbers?

Am I crazy because I would rather gamble on a one year deal for Oladipo instead of Dragic?
