Kidd is not a problem, everytime we return to that. Mavs are the problem. No one is discussing Kidds previous and current decisions. Everyone believes people make mistakes and pay for them, people can change. We are discussing Mavs relation with sexual related problems. 2018 scandal, Ronzone scandal, KP scandal and now Kidd was put on top of that. Do Mavs really care about healthy workplace and have a decent attitude regarding women? Are Mavs a trustworthy organization? All questions that top free agents will ask themselves. It is not just basketball
But you are right with one thing - it is what it is. Mavs made Kidd move and that will not change. NBA nation is discussing Mavs sex related problems and that will also not change.

There are no winners in this conversation.
1) Its stupid to crucify Kidd 20 years later...but even more ridiculous to keep him in Purgatory when no one knows what was going on behind closed doors between two people living with each other. Maybe she was evil and wouldnt leave. That is a very very frustrating situation to deal with. Now...in Kidds case...he should have had enough money to go get an apartment. Still unfair on her part if the place was in his name and she wouldnt leave. Especially since law says you cant just kick someone to the curb thats been living at a residence(at least thats my understanding of how law use to be in mid 2000's). Bottom line is...we dont know what was going on between the two.
2) Kidd is crucified...even 20 years later...but Governments lie, steal, cheat and murder(I.E. Get physical with each other...Even when one Government is WAY stronger than another like Man vs Women in a physical fight) each other...and I see people being hard core Government supporters. You cant have it both ways. Youre not allowed to think differently with a group than as if you were an individual. If something is wrong...its wrong. With a group or without.
This whole conversation is an incredible waste of time...and one that doesnt make sense when people are allowed to flip flop on their position on things and one where we dont know all the facts.
Talk more basketball.
If you think the conversation is a waste of time, you are certainly free not to engage in it. People who think it is a worthwhile exercise should be free to discuss the concerns.
FWIW, these arguments that domestic abuse is okay because the wife might have "deserved" it, or because other people do things that are just as bad, are exactly the attitudes that the concerned fans are worried about wrt the Mavs.

I thought I was a sensitive guy back then, but would probably be ostracized for some of my behavior in today's judgmental society. (Although there was one guy who got away with publicly commenting about "grab 'em by the *****".)
Domestic abuse is particularly heinous since it is often a power imbalance that allows it to happen and is difficult to repair. There are a lot of "but's" to that statement but I think it stands OK alone.
That said, we can't let our bad choices define us and I perceive Kidd as working on better choices in his private life and relationships.
I don't have as much insight into this professional ethics, although the BKN stay seemed to turn skanky for a one-year coach. As for pushing the envelope, maybe he'll be our Belichek and success will buy him a load of slack from the fans.
I understand all of this...except the part where it's a reply to me. Is this meant as some sort an agreement or rebuttal to my post? I'm just asking because I want to understand the connection.

I meant it more in a way of agreement and was just piggy-backing on your post with my comments. If that was inappropriate, I apologize. I respect your contributions, whether I agree or not.
I'm thinking the first time DAL goes on a 10 game winning streak, all this noise goes away. OTOH, if they go on a 10 game losing streak then the pitchforks will come out and it will come back up again.
Personally, I'm wanting to start hearing some leaks from the NMBT about what the intentions/philosophy/plans are for turning this team back into an annual contender. I'd love to think some of our pipe dreams may not be so pipe dreamy.

Oh, no! Nothing to apologize for!
I just wanted to understand. Sometimes, we quote to agree. Sometimes to disagree. Sometimes, to add or expound. In this case I just wasn't clear on what you were doing. I definitely agree with what you wrote.

Trying out, below, a couple of opinions that I’m not sure of. Feel free to beat me up for them if you like.
1. What’s a rehabilitated criminal supposed to do? Domestic abuse or otherwise, once you’ve served your time, don’t you get to be reintroduced into society? And doesn’t that mean returning to the world of the employed? Is it ok to hire Jason Kidd to a low-level construction job but not to a coaching position? Because coaches are role models? Like the great Bobby Knight? Woody Hayes? Cheatin’ Bill Belicek? Because head coaches have more opportunities to commit further domestic violence than regular folk? Should Kidd be banned from marrying too—or even shacking up?
2. Isn’t “branding” just a bit overdone these days? I mean, I support our troops and all. But I don’t cheer for the Mavs because they support our troops, and it insults my intelligence a little that they seem to think my allegiance can be bought that way. Or by their cool billboards. Or their support for local charities. I support them cause they’re my local team, just like I cheer for the local high school and my country’s olympians. So now the media is “branding” them as misogynists (an argument the Mavs, admittedly, have provided ammunition for). Do I now have to start caring about the brand?

I think the whole Luka hates KP take is overblown.
I think Luka doesn't like that KP was not giving 100% effort. I think they aren't close. But they're coworkers they don't have to be friends.

I'm far from a KP homer, and would love nothing more than for his ass to get shipped out of here...
...but I totally agree with this take.

Here's the free agent that solves it all...extremely low maintenance, awesome shooter, "once in a lifetime player" and can get his own shot.
It would solve the personal problems because the actor who played Jimmy was Latvian and could befriend/straighten out KP....

Luka doing his part to raise KP's trade value. He also bought KP a nice set of Louis Vuitton luggage.
