Trade & Free Agency 2026/2027
(07-01-2026, 04:24 PM)Deebo Wrote: I must assume this is fairly disappointing and looks like there’s no true plan.  Zero activity or effort to get something done quickly.  Seems like they don’t know how to fix this team.

What free agent is currently available that can be had for the MLE that can fix this team…?

What trade would you like them to make? Masai said they aren’t going to rush the Flagg era.

I’d rather they make a slow burn with value signings than rush and make a KP like trade. We saw that with Luka.

The team currently constructed has a bunch of good players on good contracts with a young star on a rookie deal. Where’s the rush?

Why are the Mavericks not trading for Brown if it only takes garbage in two first round picks. What the hell is going on someone bring Nico back

Good deal for Philly.  My evaluation of Brown must be way off as I figured he'd command a lot more than that.  2x SRPs too.

Terrible trade my the Celtics. Their fans have to be mad as hell. Maybe not Luka / AD mad, but pretty mad. Great move for Philly though.

Why does everyone hate Jaylen Brown? If that's all it took, then the whole league failed.

BLOCKBUSTER: The Boston Celtics have agreed to trade Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George, two first-round picks and two second-round picks, sources tell ESPN.

Should speak to how important attitude is. Brown wants to be the bus driver. Most teams preferred their current one. PHI got a good player, but as always, it hinges on Embiids health

The knock has been that he wants to be the guy and couldn't do that with he and Tatum on the same team which makes Philly an even stranger place to be with Maxy, Embiid, and to a lesser extent, Edgecomb.  Brown might not be one of the leagues best players, but he's in the very next tier in my eyes.

This makes what the Lakers traded for worse. They could have had Brown for two more seconds and kept their swaps. I would much rather have Brown to build around Luka than Kessler.

Say what you want about Brown, but he's a hell of a player in my eyes and plays hard on both ends. I don't care about any players personal stuff off the court including some of Kyrie's views. Kyrie is an amazing player and that's all I care about. I think this is a downgrade for the C's.

It's interesting because the eyetest suggests exactly what you say but when you look at the analytics he's always been pretty mediocre. Something isn't adding up because on paper a versatile defender that can be a first option on offense should have superstar impact.

Sure, especially given PG's health concerns.

But, just saying...when it reaches a point where the guys in the locker room can't stand each other, what can you do?

Wow I didn’t even think of it like that.

Lakers paid more for Kessler than Philly paid for Jaylen Brown.

I mean, they made it work when they destroyed the Mavs in the finals.

Coulda traded PJ and two firsts to get him.  No way I don't do that.  Nuts.

You get the right coach to adjust attitudes.  Dusty May is that coach IMO.

I'm not about giving future assets away right now, but one of those firsts was our GSW pick, I'd do that deal without hesitation.

Well, slight hesitation because who knows what the Brown/Kyrie dynamic is these days.

But we said the same last year when they got rid of all their decent bigs
