[Fischer] Jaylen Brown’s market has been described as “tepid” with teams around the league not valuing Brown highly due to his contract and impending 2-year max contract extension.

Well if nobody wants to give Brown a two year max extension, then the new CBA is broken again.

I'd be happy to give a tepid offer for Brown.

The Dallas Mavericks have extended a qualifying offer to Moussa Cisse, making him a resrticted free agent, a person familiar with the situation says.

Cisse played on a two-way contract as a rookie last season and averaged 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds & 1.2 blocks in 38 games.

By picking up Lu Dort's option and declining Kenrich Williams' option, the Thunder are now at roughly $228.8M in payroll with 14 players.

Roughly $7.1M above the second apron.

Good news about Cisse, I think, but even more indication that more moves are to come.

So how's our money situation looking?
Haven't ran across a spreadsheet this summer
Like $40 mil under the tax line still after the draft picks?

I think Jaylen Brown is a good player.  The problem in the NBA arises when a player believes he is one level better than he actually is.

I don't think he fits here for that reason.

I think calling him a good player undersells him quite a bit, but I do have some concerns about fit which is why my offer would be tepid rather than enthusiastic. There is a theoretical point where he's so inexpensive to expire that I'd put aside my fit concerns and roll the dice.

We don't need to look far into our past about concerns about acquiring a player who's worked out pretty darned well for us. /food for thought

[Haynes] BREAKING: Due to sizable distance apart in negotiations, Detroit Pistons restricted free agent center Jalen Duren will meet with the Sacramento Kings at the start of free agency with the intentions of structuring a sign-&-trade out of Detroit.

[Charania] Free agent sharpshooter Kevin Huerter intends to sign a three-year, $27 million deal to return to the Detroit Pistons, sources tell ESPN.

So traded away Stewart, could be losing Duren for Kings players, re-signed Huerter and acquired Joe. Unfortunately all the good work by Trajan is ruined by the length of Cunningham´s contract. Lesson kids is always get a player option in year five. That way Cade could have forced a trade home to Dallas in 2028.

Not really sure how the aprons work entirely, do they need to move off 7.1M in salary?

Dort/Wallace for Klay saves $7.7mm...just saying.

They are allowed to be over Apron 2, but it costs them.  Not only a massive tax, but trade rules are much more difficult.  I don't suspect they will end up over Apron 2.

Is it crazy to be interested in Jrue as a stopgap point guard? Maybe for Klay+PJ with no picks. You either let him play out the next two years or try to flip him next offseason for something of value.
