Trade & Free Agency 2026/2027
Gobert is literally trash. He can't play majority of PO series.

Connelly destroyed Minny with that trade.

OG for PJ+Klay saves the Knicks about 5.5 mil and solves 2 roster spots for them AND lets them retain Mitchell Robinson for up to 14mil.

Do the Mavs have 3-5 1st rd picks to include in this trade?

OG is the best 3 and D player in the NBA.

MIN is going to start

Lamelo
ANT
Ayo
McDaniels
Gobert

They could use some depth at the 4 but it's not like they're in some desperate situation. They have 4 wing sized players out there and Gobert.

I get the jokes about Lamelo but if he can stay on the court, he's a savant on offense and exactly what MIN needed. His bad habits are similar to Luka. Ball hog, lazy on defense, doesn't take care of himself off the court, bad driver.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Hornets plan to keep Reid on their roster despite already receiving trade inquiries for the versatile big man. "They already got some trade calls in on [Naz Reid], but the plan is right now to keep him. This is a team that could still shift the roster around a little bit if they want," Charania reported on ESPN's SportsCenter.

John Gambadoro: A couple of things here. The Mark Williams three-year contract is very tradeable especially if he plays well. He will start and when Maluach is ready whenever that may be Mark can either be a backup or be traded. Second, I understand many fans wanted a big move not to run it back with a team that got swept in the first-round by OKC. What I would say is that they are going to rely on a second year of Jordan Ott and his system, health of Jalen Green and Grayson Allen, development of Fleming and Maluach and just continuity of playing together with the same guys to improve on last season - how much? Not sure but I would think their goal is to get into a top 6 seed and improve on last years win total.

Stefan Bondy: Heard it’s unlikely Mitchell Robinson will be back with Knicks next season. He’s longest tenured Knick but also an unrestricted free agent. Owner James Dolan said he’s unwilling to pay into second apron so running it back with bench is not feasible.

Jon Krawczynski: The Wolves do still have other moves in the works. They need a power forward, and they need more shooting. I am told that they are not trading Donte DiVincenzo. The work continues.

Sources close to the situation tell The Stein Line that, when it comes to potential trade talks, there are only two other teams that Leonard would consider signing an extension with: The two teams he played for before becoming a Clipper. Toronto and San Antonio.

Sam Quinn: If Minnesota is keeping Donte DiVincenzo, they somehow have to turn Josh Green's $14.7 million salary into a playable power forward. Without draft picks, they might have to include Terrence Shannon to do so. But that's the next order of business here. "I've heard Sandro Mamukelashvili from Toronto as potentially an option there (for Minnesota). Now, I think that's going to depend on what his free agent marketplace ends up being."

GUARDS.

I get it, I do. Outside of a trade with OKC, there aren't a whole lot worth talking about. We know what's available in free agency and we've chased down every possible trade rumor so far to see if there's a Mavs angle. I think we've talked Guards to death. The Mavs will surely add one or two. It may just be bringing back Nembhard and/or BWill, however unlikely that may seem...

If you're forcing me to bring up more to talk about. What do you think about Malik Monk ($20.2M) being traded into the TPE? He has a player option the following year for $21.5M. Does it excite you? Not me.

Lastly, Vit Krejci. No way to know what Schmitz involvement was, but his previous front office in Portland just traded Reath and 2 SRP's for him in February. Reath was a salary dump. He's still just 26. A 6'8 combo guard [Masai mold] on a cheap deal ($2.6M, $3.0M-TO), that can shoot from deep (39.3%).

Moar Guard talk!

Absolutely would need to be more moves. Which there would be. My thought behind it wasn't to fix all the Mavs problems with one trade but rather take a swing on a promising young guy in exchange for one of our Vets. Something we've discussed plenty. Wolves fans view Beringer the same way Mavs fans viewed Lively the first two years. I don't agree that he's on that level, but I'd be willing to bet 95% of their fans would laugh in my face if I proposed it to them. Maybe neutral parties would see the benefit for both sides...

Anyway, I don't think any of our fantasy trades are likely or anything - just trying to keep the discussion going for the most part. Smile

One last Guard to bring up. This player was drafted by the Raptors last year (39th), which Masai was involved in. He also played for Dusty May at FAU. He was on a Two-Way this past season and earned NBA All-Rookie and All-Defensive G League honors. He'll be a RFA, similar to the Cisse situation. Mavs can offer him an actual roster spot?

Alijah Martin

His official measurements from the NBA Draft Combine include a barefoot height of 6'1.5", a massive 6'7.5" wingspan, and a weight of 208.4 lbs. He also has a 8'3.5 standing reach, 38.0" max vert, and 3.11 second three-quarter sprint.

G-League stats: 30.9 mpg | 18.4 ppg | 4.4 ast | 5.2 rbs | 1.3 stl | 0.5 blk | 38.4% 3PT | 48.1% FG | 65.1% FT

Jalen Duren plans to explore sign-and-trade scenarios after contract negotiations have stalled out with the Pistons, per @sam_amick (https://nytimes.com/athletic/7396928/202...ion-trade/).

There is a large enough gap in value from Duren’s camp and Detroit where he feels like it’s best to now play elsewhere.

The Ron Holland dream is still alive...Gafford to Detroit...maybe Klay also?  They will have a massive TPE when the S&T Duren to LAL.

Emphasis on that.

Even as an offensive player, Ball is empty stats. He produces, but MIN isn't going anywhere with this deal. If they had any sort of good assets left I'd be interested in a PJ trade but they are really empty.

The Nets have interest in trying to sign Mitchell Robinson away from the Knicks, league sources tell @TheSteinLine … which is just one item of many in my latest Intel compilation with @JakeLFischer.

Reportedly, he wants more than the 4 yrs /177 being offered.  Langdon already said he's not going to handcuff the team's future flexibility with high contracts. We'll see if he earns his chops.

Just to echo Dan's thinking ... wouldn't Gafford be a nice sweetner for Detroit? And Klay? That almost seems too easy. Can they throw in Jenkins?
