Messed up that the reporting on this is so jacked, but I think I understand what happened, and they basically traded UP without doing a damn thing.

What did the Mavs give up?

Educate me on Sergio, por favor.

Lesson to self: do not type lengthy replies on draft night. LOL.
Okay we definitely taking the Russian kid with one of the 2nd rounders. Bradley or Oweh with the other.

I think the two picks the Mavs "paid" to move up to 25 just came from PHX. Do I have that right? I think Dallas moved up 5 spots without paying anything except for cash, maybe.

Nice getting a guard. Woulda liked a push for Philon, but Sergio is a good get.

Ok. The Mavs did get their guy after all. The Knicks were also in this trade.

Ok..reading now from Shams:
Sources: New York traded No. 25 pick Sergio De Larrea to the Dallas Mavericks for No. 30 Koa Peat and two second-round picks. And then the Knicks traded Peat to the Phoenix Suns for three-rounders and cash. So Knicks move out of the first round -- pick up 3 seconds and cash.

We talked about moving up and taking a so so co tract back with a ten in the mid 20s. They moved up and didn’t give up anything. Now I know nothing about Sergio and will be doubtful until proven wrong and may like others more but this was nice maneuvering if they really believe in the player

It was a little weird, but now that that’s all settled, great night for the Mavs. It couldn’t have gone any better.

?? Sergio de Larrea has quietly become one of the most underrated players in this draft class, particularly as a shooting prospect.... 6 '5 - Point Guard - Elite Shooter + Playmaking Flashes The Spaniard is putting up a blisteringly efficient year from beyond the arc for Valencia across both Liga ACB and Euroleague games. (63 games) 3PT FG - 41.4% (63/152) - P&R Ball Handler - 44.1% (15/34) - Spot Up - 43.1% (31/72) - Transition - 39.3% (11/28) - 3pr - 48.7% While De Larrea’s usage is lower than many of his fellow draftees, he is earning rotation minutes for one of the best teams in the world, as they go on a play-off run. Don't be surprised when De Larrea is selected earlier than most expect on draft night, his ability to stay on the floor against some of the best competition in the world speaks volumes to NBA front offices. **2025–26 Liga Endesa Best Young Player video of highlights: https://x.com/quinnfishburne/status/2061997776867840262?s=46&t=4w35gotNXtBJnqxbaL7e9w
