I know it depends how the board falls and you never want to show your hand, but moving back seems crazy. We aren't likely to see a higher pick until 2031.
Great observation.

I wouldn't mind if this is the last lottery pick of Flaggs career. I hope there's a lot of winning in his/the Mavs future!

Masai/Schmitz will have to hit grand slams with many low firsts and second round picks for that to happen. There's hope of that, tho.

Would be nice and at the very least, the Mavs have no incentive to lose games moving forward.
Also all the Burries/Christie comps on the previous pages bummed me the hell out.

In my heart of hearts, Peterson is the guy I'd love to see with Flagg for the next decade. I almost factually know there's not a way to trade up high enough to get him, but I'll continue to hope. I'd say that if true, the idea of trading up probably has to do with either Wagler, Brown or Acuff, whichever one of those guys they like the best.

My ideal draft is we stay at 9 and take Kingston Flemings.
What’s the knock on him? Maybe his offensive game is not polished enough to be a #1 option?
1. He looks like a real PG.
2. Good athlete that attacks the paint.
3. Not a liability on defense
4. 85% from FT line shows shooting potential.
5. Would be great in transition.
6. Seems like a good kid.
He looks like a perfect fit here next to Cooper.

It’s like the Cowboys draft and Caleb Downs. I wouldn’t even mind trading up 1-2 spots if that’s what it took to get him.

Maybe people think he dosnt have the upside to be a true #1? He looks like a perfect fit here next to Cooper.
I'm with you. I'd be thrilled. If I'm picking nits, I say that while he's definitely interested in defense (more than half the battle), he's a little slight to be defensively imposing ENOUGH in the growing ever more switch-heavy NBA, but I don't think he'll be bad on defense. Also, he'd have to develop a little as a 3-level scorer. Right now he's a little too Fox/Morant/Westbrook to me, in that he MUST get all the way to the paint to reach maximum effect. Those other two levels need moves, counters and willingness to pull the trigger, but again, I'm with you - I think he'll figure it out, and probably better than any of the names I just mentioned.
But, that's why I ultimately put Brown ahead of him - dude is willing and able to pull from ANYWHERE.

This is how I feel about Brown, I think. But I'm ok with letting Flemings fall to #9 and doing the easy thing, too. Or Buries, for that matter.

For SURE I wouldn't trade DOWN.
Mayyyyyybe if all the PG's are gone, Burries is the last one left, and I think I can get him a slot or two lower, but I'm not trading down away from those top 9 names we've discussed, I don't think. Seems like a mistake to me.

I would be really surprised if Acuff is there guy due to his size and lack of interest playing defense.
Brown is possible, but given the apparent focus on BBIQ I wonder if his shot selection and loose playmaking are deterrents.
Wagler seems like the most likely guy they would actually move up for. He has positional size/versatility and plays with high IQ.

There's smoke out there about how much Dallas likes Acuff, actually. Who knows if it's legit, because I imagine most of what we read this time of year is full of agenda, but it's no less useful than imagining what we think "an Ujiri" guy is, lol. 1) He's been out of the game, reinventing himself. 2), this isn't Toronto. 3) He isn't even the GM. Schmitz is, and we have even less to go on with him. NONE of us know what's about to happen, so one rumor is just as good as the next as far as I'm concerned. I'll start to feel like I can make predictions a couple of years in, maybe.

Was looking at key draft dates and noticed there is an NCAA Early Entry withdrawal date of May 27th. But there was another listed as NBA Early Entry withdrawal date of 6/13.
What's the second one for? Is the for the Euro and G-league entries?
BTW, I haven't seen much in the way of Euro players talked about so far. Is this a thin year for them or is it just the NCAA-sourced candidates are so strong?

Small hope would be he drops to clips at 5. wash shocks everyone and goes boozer, Uta- snatches AJ, grizzlies grab Wilson, and Chicago goes Mikel brown over Peterson
We trade Kyrie 9 and 30 for garland and 5. May have to add another win now player instead of 30 to entice them. That would be a dream draft for the Mavs though imo

Yes, International. I am not sure many will pull out in draftable range. There is reports Suigo is going to Villanova if he is not top 20 pick. I think the 6'7 point guard will stay. Not sure how many others are real potential first round guys.

Best euro prospects played in college. NIL money pays better than contracts in minor european leagues. Steinbach, Mara...
Prospects that stayed in europe probably aren't first round picks. Suigo has some hype because he is a giant that likes to shoot (percentages aren't great). De Larrea is a big guard from Spain. Kayil a guard from Germany.
Most intriguing prospect outside the NCAA universe is probably Karim Lopez. Big wing/forward with handles. Played in New Zealand. Mocked in late lottery/mid first round range.

I think there's a better chance Peterson goes #1 than drops to #5, but I'll keep my fingers crossed right next to you!

What if the smoke with Wagler/Bulls is real and they take him over Wilson. What would you give up to trade up from 9 to 5 to get Wilson?? ‘29 FRP? More?

I'd give up everything for Wilson which means the Mavs should stay the hell away.

Take Kevin O’Conner draft intel with a grain of salt but could be interesting. I think you would need to get in front of Atl if this is true, I think. Not sure Sacramento takes him. I think Kevin is easy to dupe. He is like a dog in heat trying to break stories.
