Well the battle vs size vs quickness. Size prevails a lot but tonight Dallas had no answers for Phillys quickness in the backcourt. Mavs need to find a guy like that. Making 3 threes for a whole, game isn’t going to cut it either

3/18
16% from 3PT for a professional basketball team.
Brutal.

Well Mavs make 3 threes for the game. Philly doesn’t shoot well but makes 12.
Dallas turns it over 18 times to Philly 8
Philly gets 20 offensive rebounds to Dallas 8.
Sometimes it is not that difficult to see why you lose.

Three made threes. I wonder whether that is an season low for the whole league.
Boston easily beats Toronto without Brown. Insane coaching job.

Man Carlisle will never change. LOL. 6-21 record, down 22 with four to play and he challenges a call to waste five minutes of everybody in the crowd.

After squeaking by Detroit, I thought for sure they'd put together a two game streak. But it wasn't meant to be. Maxey and Edgecombe made sure of that.

They're not even generating enough threes to win, let alone making them. Seems like every player they have thinks they're Demar DeRozan.

Not enough good to make a real PO push and not enough bad for a lottery pick. Worst situation ever.
Thanks you Harrison.

Max Christie is just a good role player. I'm sorry for someone here.

Well, last time I checked, #9 lottery seed was actually synonymous with lottery pick..

Besides the 3-point shooting, our center position is too slow for teams like Philly. They went pretty small at the end of that game, and they just ran circles around AD - and we almost have to play him. We can't really replace him late in the game. Their third string center Adem Bona played 25 minutes and was a plus-17. He frequently played out on the wing where he hit one 3-pointer.
Philly was a younger, quicker team. That's one more reason, I'm not eager for another year of AD. He's not going to get any quicker. He's slowly morphing into a better shooting Andre Drummond. That's not a bad thing really, but it's not going to get you to the promised land.

So big lineups movement is already dead? Too fast. Too bad.

I have issues with Morey but he always finds hidden talent.
I am not sure if that was a one off performance with Barlow last night but he looked good. I love Bona. I think he is going to have a long career.
Grimes was not great last night. He has struggled some lately after a fantastic start. Maxey and VJ look like a backcourt to build around. Both are playing a lot of minutes though. I have not seen them much but it must be an awkward fit with Embid with him wanting to play a slower pace.
As much as I like Gafford, it is baffling how poor of a defensive rebounder he is.
As much as I like PJ, I am coming to the conclusion that is may be best long term to have a different type of player next to Flagg. He can defend bigger players, but struggles against quickness. Can’t really play make and is a streaky shooter who may be a little below average overall. Just wondering if a physical PF type is best or a more flexible jack of all trades would be better?
As I said in the game thread, Cooper has made 3 threes in the whole month. He has been shooting free throws great. He just appear to have any confidence in his three right now. Watch out when. He is a threat out there because he is still getting into the lane despite no one playing his three.

Tough watching Drummond and Bona hit threes and then feel like it is an act by congress to let Lively shoot one…when healthy

From what I saw, Drummond is probably a better 3-point shooter, which is crazy to say. He made 3 out of 4 in his last game, a win vs NY. He's still a monster on the boards, too.

Big lineups aren't dead. Slow, big, unathletic lineups are.

PJ would be a much better fit next to 23 year old Flagg, but by then he'll be on the wrong side of 30 and extension elegible. I think they should consider a trade this offseason if they can get good value. Nearly every contender would love to have a guy like him.
