Luka Dealt to Lakers: Nico Harrison is a Basketball Terrorist
That hall of famer can't even carried us to the PO last year...

That's really disingenuous given the team's injury situation and only having AD for a dozen games or so.

And yet, despite all the headwinds, they managed to come within one game of making it in...Luckily they missed but won the coin toss with CHI.

Memphis destroy us in the play in final, it's enough for me about street clothes leading a team.

Trade him and don't worry. He is overrated, soft and heavy injury prone.

Our core is young and too good for waste time with him & post ACL irving.

Injury prone yes.  Luka was starting to wear that label too.
Good thing for LA Doncic has something to prove now.
The chip on his shoulder is inspiring weight loss and probably a healthier Luka than Dallas was getting.
Be nice to see similar motivation from AD.

AD not overrated.  Still allstar impact.
Mavs didn't have enough health from others to close the season with AD.
Here's his stat line from that last Memphis playoff game:
*  37 min
* Points: 40
* Rebounds: 9
* Assists: 2
* Steals: 1
* Blocks: 1
* Field Goals: 16/29

Empty stats, the game was over after the first quarter.

They destroy us, probably you didn't watch the game.

Please don't put street clothes and Luka Doncic in the same post, it's embarassing.

AD statements after blow out L against Memphis

“Just left it all on the floor.”

Ant statements after disastrous series against OKC

"Nobody's going to work harder than me this summer. I'll tell you that much,"

He is not a leader, he was never a leader.
He can't carry a team. He is soft.

It’s nuts that Nico against all sane medical advice wanted Luka to play through the same injury that led to Achilles injuries for KD and now Hali. Good thing for Luka he has his own people like a superstar should. You never know when you’ll need to deal with a low character person with some influence over you. I’m thankful Luka had a team around him to push back.

Good for him. I was wondering if he would change as he got older. Last year was not great how he entered camp or got after he got to camp. A lot of great players eventually find out that last 1% can be the difference from great to legendary.

[Woike] Luka Doncic has lost a significant amount of weight this offseason and committed to a strict diet and cardio training according to a source with knowledge of the plan. In a shift from his normal offseason, he spent a month away from on-court work to focus more on his body.

Unfortunate it took a betrayal of unseen levels to get him to finally take offseason training seriously.

Body issues and conditioning were just fake motivation... Luka had to go to the Fakers to save the league.

He loses weight before the team Slovenia activities EVERY SUMMER. This isn't new. What matters is what he does after that stuff. Traditionally, that month between then and training camp is when he pounds beers and plays overwatch all day (not a joke, he's grandmaster level at that game). How someone can get sooooo out of shape in just a few short weeks is beyond me, but that's what he has been doing.

Wake me up if he's in shape when the season starts instead of using October through Christmas Day to play himself into the condition that everyone else showed up to training camp in. That's when we'll know if something has changed.

Not trying to hate on Luka - just calling it like I see it.

  Rolleyes Luka Doncic was Traded for Anthony Davis.  They will always be linked.

AD isn't an empty stat guy and a big games are not unusual for him.
Yes, the "street clothes" is the problem with Davis, just as Luka was starting to trend toward losing a lot of injury time, especially for team built completely around him.
Mavericks medical and training staff need to dig in and work on keeping AD healthy the same way the Lakers are focusing now on an improved healthy Luka.

Luka Heart  but Luka is LA now.  AD is All Dallas now the Mavs Allstar now.
Anthony Davis Mavericks Debut (Feb. 8, 2025 vs. Houston Rockets):
  • Points: 26
  • Rebounds: 16
  • Assists: 7
  • Blocks: 3
  • Minutes: 31

Sixth Game (April 2, 2025 vs. Atlanta Hawks):
Points: 34
Rebounds: 1
Assists: 2
Steals: 1
Blocks: 5
Minutes: 30

Davis became the first player in Mavericks history to record at least 34 points, 15 rebounds, 5 blocks, 2 assists, and 1 steal in a single game. He also made a game-clinching floater and a crucial defensive stop in the final seconds.

The Luka revenge tour is in the making - seems like he’s taking things serious, even mentioning Kobe and MJ as role models:

Maybe getting traded was the shock that finally motivated him to take conditioning seriously.

I wonder how long it will last...

Does sound familiar
we'll see what happens the next time he rolls an ankle and misses 2 weeks
he really blows up when there's any amount of downtime

Again...not trying to make any predictions, because I'm becoming less and less interested in anything Luka related, but...getting into shape before his national team activities isn't a new development. He's coming off of the season and gets dumped right into prep for team Slovenia activities, almost. His "vacation" has always seemed like it happens between national team activities and NBA training camp, and that's when he usually loses his grip on conditioning. Wake me up when he checks into camp in great shape.

Did you read the article on men‘s health? Sounds dead serious to me - so I‘m gonna wake you up when the season starts! He even says that it won’t help him a lick if he stops now and doesn’t pull through until and during the season.

I think you're going to be surprised.

Luka sounds pissed. If there is one thing we know for sure is that Luka locks in when he is challenged the most time and again. It is why he can bury entire franchises on the road in the first quarter. This is basically the off-court version of that.

I think we're going to see an insanely in-shape Luka. I am happy for him. I am sad it couldn't have been for the Mavs.
