I could possibly see Brooklyn wanting Hardy for one of their late 1st rounders. They are not going to bring in 5 1st rounders.

But the question for them is the same question we'd have. Is a 19 or 20 year old going to be better than Jaden Hardy?  For the Mavs next season, unless its Clayton, i dont see it.

By the way, Jaden Hardy is only like 6 months older than Walter Clayton.

But if i'm the Mavs and i can pick up a late 1st rounder it would be if Jase Richardson starts sliding.

We are hearing that Asa Newell has a promise in place at 13 with ATL if he makes it to their pick.

First draft pick trade of the night: The San Antonio Spurs are trading the No. 38 pick in tonight's NBA draft to the Indiana Pacers for a future second-round pick and cash, sources tell ESPN.

So who do you think slips to the Mavs at #11?

(checks notes)

Oh, they have the Number 1 Pick.

Carry on.

We’re all bracing for a ton of trade activity throughout the first round this evening, but there’s already been plenty of word on deals to be expected at the top of the second as well.

This includes Dallas, which is said to be exploring packages involving Olivier-Maxence Prosper, Jaden Hardy, or future draft capital to acquire a late first-round or early second-round pick, sources said.

Don't like the sound of future draft capital.

A ‘26 swap for a FRP today makes some sense, depending on the team and player available.

Late first -- that's Clayton
Early second -- possibly Proctor

Neither available and they stand pat.

I hate the branding of "DLLS". It's clunky and doesn't roll off the tongue, especially when they say it a million times. I wish they'd go with something like "D double-L S".

GIGO.

For those thinking this is going to be something positive, notice that the Mavs are HOPING to trade a late FRP player or an early SRP player who are sucky to get a late FRP or early SRP. The same person is doing the planning and picking this time that identified those prior losers AND made a trade to get a chance to pick them.

I'm not really optimistic about what is in the works.
