AROUND the NBA:

Probably would have been better served to tank against DAL in the play in game.

Giving up a FRP + Marcus Smart for Marvin F'ing Bagley III? That's some Nico-level stuff right there.

Smart was not a smart move. But smarter than Nico trying to be smart.

Bucks fear Dame Lillard has a torn Achilles.

Torn achilles confirmed - I think the Bucks are in complete nowhere land now and won’t be able to give Giannis a chance to win in the remaining years of his career. Will be fascinating if he chooses the Dirk way and stays loyal with his one title - or forces a trade to a contender. Unfortunately we aren’t a contender anymore if he chooses the second option…

I think he will eventually ask out.   Bucks really have no one to give him hope.  They will hold on to him until he asks out, but that will eventually come.

It will be fascinating who goes hard after him.    When can the Mavs get future picks past 31?   And the answer is yes, I would ship AD plus a ton of picks for Giannis.  May even get my interest back.

That’s why you need to get each and every pick and pick-swap possible when you trade a guy like Doncic - that gives you the ammunition to go after the next big star and reload one or two years later.

Dream scenario would have been to get Giannis next summer, one season before he can opt out, and therefore for a fair deal, and pair him with Luka for the next 5 years to win three titles in that span and make us the Dallas Euro Mavericks for forever, building on the house that Dirk built.

Yes. Any contact, especially body contact while shooting will throw off your shot. That's your opinion you're entitled to it. Nevertheless, the crew chief who was right next to the play admitted he blew the call. I expect they'll be back in Detroit for game 6.

When I looked at the replay, it looked, to me, like Tim got the ball in the corner with the clock about to expire. There was a guy coming from his right. Tim jumped, stuck his right leg out to try and make contact to try and draw a foul. In the process he made a very poor, short shot at the basket. Looked an awful lot like a guy flopping to initiate contact. A foul call would've rewarded an acting job. Don't know why the league would come out and say a foul should've been called. Maybe to placate the fans. I sincerely hate flopping to get a call, and that's what I saw. There was contact on the play, but I'm thinking it was due to Tim throwing his leg out in an unnatural motion.

The league said what they said, didn't call a foul in real time, or overturn the results of the game. Those games get rough. They call some stuff, ignore other stuff. They could call a foul on any play and a lot of times it's judgement. There's pulling, tugging, holding, tripping, all sorts of stuff. Some gets called, some does not. That last play, to me, was little of nothing.

I'm not getting into a pissing contest with you about it. He was fouled, everybody, the refs, the analysts, and their mama's saw it and agreed. They flat out missed it. THJ should have been at the ft line to win the game.  We move on....

Should have, but didn't. I agree with the call on the floor. I described what I saw on the replay. No pissing contest. A difference of opinion. I'll go to my grave disagreeing with the officiating in the 2006 NBA finals. According to history, the Mavs lost. According to me, the Mavs got cheated. Which team does the NBA want to advance in this series, the Knicks or the Pistons? Officially, the NBA says "should have been a foul". Also, officially, "no foul".

It's the last video on the list...

Lakers lack of size is really showing up in this one. Gobert is dominating them with 27 pts and 24 rebs, and 2 blks.

Luka will be watching the rest of the playoffs with us, 103-96. Randle and Gobert proved to be too much. Lakers look tired down the stretch.

James airball. Gobert follow-up dunk. Maxi Kleber — what was he doing in the game? — miss. James miss. Doncic miss. James miss. Kleber stepped on the baseline. And so on.

What an idiotic decision by Redick, to put Kleber in the game for the 1st time since recovering from a broken foot, with Jaxson Hayes nailed to the bench. He's not perfect, but he could have tried to defend Gobert better than Kleber. JJ's decision to play small, ultimately cost them the series vs the bigger T-Wolves.
