How GOOD Is Egor Demin Actually?

Next important thing would be that the Heat somehow win their two play-in games and move ahead of us. We‘d then end up - if we don’t win our two play-in games of course - with the tied 11th worst record with the Bulls, that means the same lottery odds, but maybe picking in front of them if we win the toss.

Bulls and Kings did win and we are going to lose - all going well so far!

So we‘re tied for the 12th worst record with the Bulls right now.

Next step is to hope the Heat get hot and win their two play-in games…

So if they don't get drawn in the lottery, the Mavs will pick no worse than 13 and could be as high as 11. Lottery odds could be as high as 11.5th and no worse than 12.5th.

All that remains depends on MIA, who need to win 2 play-in games for the best Mav odds and draft outcome.

Almost right Mr. Gump - a team behind the Mavs could theoretically get drawn, move into the top 4 and throw us back a spot, just to cover all scenarios.

What I fear most is our shoe seller Nico completely wasting the pick.

What would be even more catastrophically stupid than the Luka trade?

The ownership failing to fire Nico immediately after we're eliminated in the play-in.

This guy seems like he has a high floor.  Major concern is his offense but his passing for that size is beyond exceptional.

As i am only interested in the draft right now, if they win against Memphis, does that change anything? Or is it only up to the Heat?

It does change a lot - we‘re out of the lottery then and picking like we would have ended 8th recordwise.

Yeah that's what i thought. Only this years mavs could be stupid enough to pull that of, only to get swept in the first round.

We have a nice enough team to play for rings once Irving comes back so I say work on winning more games and earn some street cred that we are a contender when healthy. Make the Grizzlies world worse by stomping them out and then show OKC beating them 3 times without Luka was not a glitch its the way things are.

We still end up with a nice pick to use and probably can add another piece that will fit in well and improve this team.

Irving Klay AD PJ and Lively is deadly. The rest of the bench could use some help. I like we have Exum and Brandon to use at PG Din is a FA and should go play somewhere else. SG you got Max Hardy and Caleb. SF you got Omax healing up and possiby we add Kessler. PF I would sign Kai and at the 5 Gafford is solid.

You have 3 guys to fit in from our 2 way development program and that speaks to that programs success. With injury we were forced to play them all and they all showed they were ready to take the next step.

Draft pick we will win against Memphis if you are reading how our team is playing now and that means we will get a worse pick but really at that level you are still getting a great pick and there will be talent that fits in with this team nicely.

I think Egor Demin is a great option. He was considered top 5 early in the season and may be able to develop his game to become a 2 way player that plays 1 through 4. Much easier to find a place to fit in if you ask me. Groomed for PG he gives us a skill set that makes him a bigger threat once he starts to shoot the ball more efficiently. Seeing over the top of guards to pass inside to our bigs is a great advantage to have. Irvings uncertain future and Exum being injury prone makes getting a 4th PG who is big and can play multiple positions a must move. Egor could still be there when we draft. If he is gone you can trade down with BKN possibly and add De Larrea who is 6'6" and then you add a few more picks to use on bigs for depth at PF and C. De Larrea is a better 3 point shooter anyway. I am thinking he is a guy more suited for our win now team where as Egor is a guy that may take some time to find his game.

Determining the NBA Draft Order
1 All teams missing the playoffs are in the Lottery
2 Teams with worse records get more chances at winning a top four pick (more ping pong ball combos)
3 The 1st overall pick is awarded by a drawing of ping pong balls
4 The 2nd overall pick is awarded by a drawing of ping pong balls
5 The 3rd overall pick is awarded by a drawing of ping pong balls
6 The 4th overall pick is awarded by a drawing of ping pong balls
7 Remaining lottery teams, sorted by record, fill out picks 5-14
8 Playoff teams, sorted by record, are assigned picks 15-30 - playoff seeds and outcomes have no impact
9 Random drawing decides who picks first between teams with same record
10 Tied lottery teams split their ping pong balls evenly, and any odd remainder and the better draft order position are given to the random drawing winner
11 Second round is ordered by record without playoff consideration
12 Second round ties are in reverse order of the teams' first round picks

Time will tell where they pick or if they even keep their pick, but I feel pretty confident if they keep the pick that pick will be big (6’4 at least), very long and athletic and physical.

If I were to guess I think Kyrie is the exception to the roster. Maybe Williams sticks as well but in theory I think big, long/athletic and physical are the prototypes too loom for.

Assuming we don’t move up my choices would be Egor Demin and next Will Riley. I am praying they don’t trade the pick for KD.

My hope is that there is no "they" to make those decisions. Fire Nico ***right now*** and get a real GM.

The problem is that no one should have faith in ownership to bring in a real GM.

The bigger problem is there is only one human in the entire universe who would even consider trading Luka for Davis and unfortunately that person is our GM.
Anybody, and I mean anybody would be better than that one total idiot who not only considered it but actually performed the unthinkable act.

Any one of us on this board could do a better job.

Hell, bring back Donnie.

First thing this season that went as I hoped it would. Winning the lottery is next!
