Luka Dealt to Lakers: Nico Harrison is a Basketball Terrorist
I saw Luka answered a question about coming back to Dallas after the game. One thing that is clear, since the trade Luka has come across as mature and human. While the Mavs have come across as amateur hour and cold.

Now, you may want your front office cold, but this was a unique scenario and they have failed every step of the way. I want to watch the game tonight, I just don't think I can.

I hear you…

But this is our chance to show Luka just how much he meant to the city. He deserves a show of love from the fans that this front office didn’t give him.

All I know about Billionaiares is no matter how much money they have, if you mess with their money there is hell to pay.  I think it is pretty clear Nico has messed with their money.   How much?  Time will tell.

If Dumont told Nico they don't want to pay Luka, than it wasn't Nico messing with their money Smile

You'll be watching like everybody else.   Big Grin  This game has been hyped for weeks since the trade. It wouldn't surprise me if it's one of the highest rated TV games of the season.

“Team sources told ESPN that the Mavs had also lined up lucrative sponsorship deals for Wednesday's game, with multiple companies that Doncic endorses, but those deals fell apart after Doncic's camp declined to give its blessing, pointedly noting that he now plays for the Lakers.”

Just another blunder or at least odd, out of touch move.   Why would Luka have any interest in assisting the Mavs here?

The Dallas Mavericks are projected to lose dozens of millions in revenue this year and over nine figures over the next several years after trading Luka Dončić , per @espn_macmahon

“It's a decision, team sources told ESPN, that probably will cost the franchise nine figures over the next several years, as the Mavs are projected to lose dozens of millions in revenue this season due to dwindling crowds, plummeting merchandise sales and sponsors severing ties with the franchise in the wake of the trade. So many fans canceled season tickets in the days after the trade that the Mavs attempted to generate some goodwill by offering limited refunds.”

Mcmahon always lived on negative news and acting like he has deep insider sources while he is mostly guessing or connecting some dots.

I would like this news to be true, but I won't take it seriously.

Well the athletic has an article saying Dumont doesn't know basketball and knows he doesn't know basketball. Goes on to say this:

In business, Dumont is known to be trusting of the people he has empowered. He wants to understand his employees’ thought processes before a big decision is made, but typically will trust them if he feels they have more expertise than he does. The Mavericks made the NBA Finals in 2024, and when it came to Dončić, Dumont trusted Harrison, who believed he had amassed more than enough intelligence over the last couple of years to make his choice.

So Harrison did his personal business and screwed Dumont? Hahahahahahaha

That fat guy is dumber than he looks on his face!

Which is absolutely insane.

Sure it's great he wants to trust his employees and defers to "expertise"... But you still need to be SOMEWHAT aware of the situation at hand yourself. Or else you get yourself into a situation like this, where an employee singlehandedly (*supposedly) tanked a multi-billion dollar franchise overnight and eroded the trust of the entire fanbase.

I truly hope this costs the team hundreds of millions of dollars. Its a pittance of what this action truly represented. Dumont, if he has even a modicum of intelligence, should recognize just how big this blew up in their faces and should fix this sooner than later. Because under his watch and in less than 13 months, he absolutely ruined this team the likes we've never seen before in sports history.

And it's not just about basketball... They lost and they will lose a lot of money with that trade.

I can't believe that Dumont didn't think about it.
It's impossible.
