Nico Harrison’s job with the Mavericks is safe for now, per
@BrettSiegelNBA
“There are no indications suggesting Harrison's job is in jeopardy at this time. Dumont has continued to defend him, and the Mavs are committed to seeing this vision through.”
Someone tell Dumont that Nico vision is already a failure.
No need to waste another year.

I guess I'd just be happy that not every Dallas club belongs in the Cowboys bucket when it comes to management. Though I'm not sure if the Joneses could take a relatively young team from a final appearance to where we are today as quickly as Nico and the Adelsons. Now I just talked myself into being sad.

What's next for Kyrie and the Mavs?
What was the gist of the Kyrie part?

Windhorst is still a Mavs hater.
What a wannabe journalist.

"They're doubling down" said one league exec...
Basically expect Kyrie to get a big extension.

Whoever this western conference exec is, they’ve nailed it with this snake analogy:
““You know that symbol of the snake eating itself, the Ouroboros? Think of that as this situation with Harrison, Dumont, and Doncic,” one Western Conference executive, who was granted full anonymity, told ClutchPoints when asked about his opinion on the state of the franchise. “Nico wanted AD, which is fine, but at some point, you have to draw the line in the sand in terms of cost. Rob Pelinka and the Lakers were probably laughing every time they got off the phone with Dallas because there's just no way anyone would give up Luka! “The snake eating itself without even realizing it was Harrison in this situation. It won't be long until the snake swallows itself.””

Another injury blow to Dallas: Mavericks forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper has a serious right wrist injury and is expected to require season-ending surgery, sources tell ESPN.

Wow...that sucks. I believe he did it when he entered the game and got a rebound and brought the ball to his other hand. Freaky.

When it rains it pours.
I am shocked yet another guy is down. I think the Mavs have had an injury to a guy every 2 weeks it feels like.

Prosper has been diagnosed with ligament damage in his right wrist, sources said. The 2023 first-round pick had received more opportunity recently, averaging 5.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 16.3 minutes over his last 24 games, including four starts.

You can put injured plyaers in uni on the bench to technically field a team for a game, but it feels like they are on the path to not having 5 players to put on the floor. The injuries are getting uglier by the day. And near the end of March, their 3 two-way players will run out of eligibility to play. What an abomination of a season that began with such high hopes.

Walking into this season was the first time since 2011 that I felt the Mavs had all the pieces to not only contend, but be a top 2 team at a chance for a ring.
I never would've expected to be here at this point of the season. If you told me what happened this season in October I'd call you a troll and to stop smoking the good stuff.

On the bright side, they kicked troublemaker Casey Smith to the proverbial curb.

Hell, I thought their chances were WAY better coming into this season than I did going into 2011.
So sad.
