Since then, I truthfully forgot I had it. It kind of paints a double standard, and bad picture, when a moderator has profanity on his profile while asking others to keep decorum in their posts.
Dropped the ball here and I'll try to do better. Hope you can understand.
I've since changed it to reflect my true feelings on this matter, while keeping positivity that we are all wanting/needing!
Was not in any way citing it to call you out in any way. I was trying to defend you as someone who was incontrovertibly against the trade.

To your point, SH is possibly the MOST against this trade of anyone here, which is why it's laughable that anyone would suggest THIS PLACE is taking a stance on things. There are essentially two of us running it at this point (maybe it's time to do something about that), and we're on opposite sides of the Luka spectrum, completely. Of note: he and I find it really easy to respect each other despite not viewing Luka in the same light, and we're able to interact in a way that acknowledges the other's good contributions. It's really not hard, and I wish others would follow our example.

This seems like a good thread to use for fair and balanced consideration of GM Nico Harrison's moves.

He was very athletic but very raw coming from the draft. "Worked" (as seen in video you posted) really hard to get from Charlotte where he didn't play after just a couple of seasons and didn't stick anywhere else since.

Yeah I figured but I still deserved to be called out. Double standards and all.
I appreciate your defense though. You could probably start for the Mavs with that kind of defensive IQ.

Kai Jones is unironically an interesting prospect, both in terms of mental stability and raw athleticism. I actually wanted him 2 years ago as an end of bench flyer. I'm intrigued to see how he looks here with extended minutes.
He is, at least, better than Kylor Kelley.

Sure. Nico is an idiot right down from his nostalgic roster building theories to his selection of this inept training staff. The Mavs are absolutely cooked. Time to start completely over. DLive and Max are the only players worth keeping. The Mavs have just two drafts to find a young superstar before their picks run out. Better hope for some lottery luck.
And no need to feel bad for Luka. He couldn’t be luckier to escape from Nico’s hellscape. I’d rather root for an expansion team than this gigantic mess.

It does feel like a catastrophic Kyrie injury was a matter of time with the load he’s been asked to carry.

Good thing we traded Luka’s injury-prone ass.

It will be close but he might still catch both AD and Kyrie in number of games played this season.
No matter how you look at it this was the worst trade in NBA history. The Mavs just nuked their franchise coming off a trip to the finals for absolutely nothing in return.
We will be MUCH worse now, even miss the playoffs most likely and be a complete disaster from 2027-2030.
5 years from now they’ll actually start the rebuilding process. By then we’re back to hoping we will land another Luka instead of another DSj and Nico Harrison will be long gone leaving this mess for somebody else to clean up.

Why is Nico not getting called out for trading Grimes, the player JKidd refused to give the minutes he deserved? While Grimes scored 44 his last time out, I don't think Martin has scored a single point as a Mav. . . . (the brilliant Nico traded a scoring machine for an injured player.)
wab
ps: yeah, I know. Dallas couldn't "afford" him

Grimes had a less efficient 14 pts performance tonight, but added 9 assists. Maxey with another really bad game, second in a row.

to make things worse, Martin trade also filled up our cap room so when our bigs were all down we had to sign the likes of brown and Kai to 10-day deals that only allowed them to play certain numbers of games for us. when their deals expire, with our bigs still out, we'd have to play omax at c and see him missing layups one after another. if nico's goal is tanking, everything he did would've been explainable in some way but the tanking started too late tbh.

Maxey is wore out trying to carry the load. They expect so much from him when Embiid and George are incognito.

May as well shut Kai down. Have the Mavs won the last game they'll win, already? Surely not, but this roster won't win a whole lot with who's left.

No matter where you fall on the Luka spectrum, it's pretty ironic that he's playing and almost nobody left here in the aftermath is even doing that. Not much of a "win now" trade, as it turns out, Mr. Harrison.

I don't want to hear any nonsense about fluke injuries. Everyone knows this whole disaster is on Nico. It's just the butterfly effect of the Luka deal that changed everything. AD went balls out to prove a point, and got himself hurt. Gafford was overplayed to 33+ MPG in 7 of the previous 10 games. PJ was rushed back to help keep the team afloat. And Kyrie's injury, which I fully expect to be catastrophic, was was an accident waiting to happen given the load he was asked to carry.
I'll hang on to hear the news on Kyrie but I won't watch this team tank again.

Per 36 Grimes is scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3.5 assists with 40% from 3 and 60% TS.
Klay is scoring 18 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists with 40% from 3 and 56% TS.
We went through a lot of hoops to sign the 34 year old Klay while giving away a very similar player at age 24. I doubt Grimes is going to cost any more than Klay currently does, and given their ages I know which one I would rather have on the team the next several years.

It goes to show how fast you can implode a franchise.
Imagine saying in December that in 2 months, the Mavs would give away Luka, Kyrie out with a knee injury, and the future looking bleaker than ever.
Sigh.
