Id much rather pay him, Steph, and Draymond for the next two years and then have a clean cap sheet. Phoenix was offering him three years.

I get it. But looking at the math the Warriors will have 120 mil tied up to just Butler and Curry.

The 1st apron (a proverbial soft cap you aren't supposed to cross before things get hard) is set to be around 188 mil. That gives the Warriors just 68 mil for 12 players.

Draymond is getting 26mi/ That leaves 42 mil for 11 guys.

Kuminga is due for an extension this summer. Looney+Payton are set to be UFA's.

If anything I think the Warriors are going to try and flip Kuminga for a bench player now because this trade wiped their bench.

After Wiggins came off court following his warmup, an assistant coach, security, Steph Curry all dapped him up on his way back to locker room. In the locker room, couple of players walked over to Wiggins to shake hands with him in locker room. Shortly after, locker room closed.

The Warriors sent a 2025 top-10 protected first rounder to the Heat as part of the Jimmy Butler trade, per sources. If it doesn’t convey this season (it likely will), it turns into a top-10 protected first rounder next season.

[Charania] Miami is working through a resolution with Kyle Anderson -- Toronto portion fell through, sources said. He could stay or be moved. A massive deal with many moving parts

My understanding is the Warriors and Heat agreed to their initial swap of players for Jimmy Butler, and it's been Miami's business since then rerouting Dennis Schroder, Lindy Waters and Kyle Anderson.

Yhat is too bad.  Fun to think of Kyle Anderson voiding Butler’s 121 million extension.

Miami is keeping Kyle Anderson for now, sources said. So Wiggins, Tucker and Anderson are in Miami along with the Warriors‘ protected first-rounder.

Both teams got what they want tbh.

GSW got another big piece to help Curry, Miami added depth for a player that stopped contributing.

It is a fair trade

If Jimmy Butler gets his full trade bonus, the Warriors can't get back to 14 players under the first apron hard cap with the roster as currently constructed.

Either he doesn't get the full bonus or they trade another player to reduce more payroll.

I'm confused. Kyle Anderson is headed to Detroit
according to Chris Haynes. I thought it was Toronto?

It was originally. Deal fell through. Shams said Anderson is sticking in Miami.

I suppose we'll figure it out later.

Agreed. I am happy for Steph that at least in theory, his franchise is trying to maximize his prime. If it works out, they should be fun to watch for antoher year or two. If not, well AT LEAST THEY TRIED. And after that, they can rebuild with their retained young pieces.

Miami stays flexible going forward and got rid of Jimmy. Funny how everybody laughed at Riley, because he "lost all his leverage" and he just turns around and pulls this massive deal off. Like a boss.

I guess more will have to be done before this deal is finalized. If Spotrac data is correct, Pistons need to release one player before taking in 2 players from the Butler trade.

Dennis Schröder is being rerouted to the Detroit Pistons as part of the Jimmy Butler deal, sources tell me.
