I think it is the opposite. Gafford struggled because he had to play more minutes. Cannot play as hard on both ends. Cannot risk foul trouble. Cannot sprint up and down the floor on every single possession.

I think Gafford and lively (with maxi) is the perfect pairing. lively really moves the needle but Gafford uses his force to never give the other team a break. I think it helps Lively too. The constant force wears on you. Gafford by himself would be limited. But he is I. The perfect spot
