It did.

Gafford is so important to this team...both him and Lively are a packaged deal. Yes Lively is great but that doesn't mean Gafford's role should be minimized if he has a bad game or two. This is an offense built around the 2 great scorers and the centers being able to get buckets inside and both big men are doing their job and more.

lively is good but he is a rookie and thin. spurs also don't play Wembanyama too long every game to protect him from foul troubles and potential injuries. gafford brings strength and toughness to our paint which no other mav provides at a similar level.

Luka said that he only went for the 3 once they switched.

Hardy has finally arrived. Great decision by Kidd to go with him over Exum/THJ in this series. IF the Mavs want to win it all then Hardy will be needed for the rest of the way.

It's not always pretty and he will have his mistakes due to inexperience but all he has to do is contribute a few points/assists in the 10 minutes he'll get each game.

Rather see Luka smiling than frustrated. And this is why we won

This is a great day for the Gafford supporters.  It's not always easy to rep Daniel Gafford but games like this make up for it.

Also, Jaden Hardy with some really important scoring for us.  I think the THJ to Hardy baton has been passed and Hardy isn't gonna give it back.

Anyone catch that “I’m tired too” sign off from Luka on the TNT postgame? They hear that stuff.

Ant still acting arrogant in post game interview. He hasn't learned. We didn't do anything again and they gave it away basically. They're good and going to win the next game if they play their "brand of basketball."

Mavs 8-2 in their last 10 playoff games. That's pretty damn good.

Mavericks' Jason Kidd on whether to go for two or three on the final possession: "You’ve got to ask Luka [Doncic] that. The play was to get Luka the ball and let Luka do what Luka does. … When he got to dancing with [Rudy] Gobert, you could see the step back [three] was coming."

At least he is being honest. He isn't calling any plays. Mavs clutch offense is "Give Luka (sometimes Kyrie) the ball and get out of the way".

Well, he's calling who gets the shots. Not more, but also not less.

So this could also be framed positively by saying he allows freedom and trusts his best players.

He doesn't do that with the rest - Hardy for example has very clear instructions. You gotta earn your freedom kind of.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Woofs 2-5 in their last 7.
