If my memory serves, Jensen played on the Andre Miller/Michael Doleac team that reached the final four.
Seems like an experienced assistant coach. Nice to have a new voice.

Jared Dudley is definitely still around seeing as he's coaching the summer league team. That tweet seems off...

"Dallas needed to replace three spots after the departures of lead offensive assistant Greg St. Jean and assistant Quinton Crawford (who landed on the new Phoenix Suns staff) and shooting coach Peter Patton (who joined the Chicago Bulls)."

Just like Bamba. Would take him on a minimum deal. Too much potential not to at least give it a shot.

Why did Orlando release him? Wasn't him like a hyped success story last season? Wasn't there anyone offering a SRP for him? Something seems off here.

He was hyped. A play here and a play there, and oohs and aahs over a tall guy doing guard-like things. (Was he any good on center-like things, however?)
But not worth a 2.2M salary. I suspect he looked much different to an avid ORL fan than the hype.
If some team does not claim him on waivers, that will say a lot. And if they do, he's not available.

It looked like he finally figured things out but it only lasted three months. His 2022 vs 2023 shooting splits are brutal.
2022 (october-december) 38.8% from 3 (26/67)
2023 (january-april) 8.7% from 3 (4/46)
He lost most of his minutes. Magic improved with Banchero slowly growing into a higher usage role on offense.

Eff to the effing no on Bol Bol.
He might be able to play, but I can’t deal with Mavs fan complaints when he doesn’t play, which will be often. It will be Boban all over again.

You wanted to get rid of the great Bobi and as a reward the universe gave you McGee. Be careful what you wish for

Mavs add Bryan Gates to the coaching staff. Has worked with AD, Holmes, KAT and most recently Ayton under Monte. I like it

Dallas have informed LAC that they are willing to step up their interest in Ivica Zubac. Can confirm, talks will open today between the Mavericks and Clippers.

Makes you think that Orlando is about to acquire some piece that either requires cap space that he $2.2 million non guaranteed salary makes room for, OR they are filling out the roster and need the slot.

https://twitter.com/nbainsidergoat/statu...3245430784 Hardaway and Bullock is an even match for Morris and Zubac
We could do that and still use the MLE on Williams etc

I'm guessing JKidd would be next in line.
Should have gone sooner but..
Probably is still with the Mavs because they need to retain Kyrie.

Zubac would be a great innings eater for us until Lively gets up to speed. They just re-signed Plumlee and drafted Kobe Brown and have Diabate. No other bugs to speak of. What do we have that LAC would want? Would this be part of a bigger deal with Philly?

I think the better question is what does Dallas have that Philly wants. LAC really has a lot of trash to offer up in a Harden deal. Zubac is one of their better assets, but Philly has a center. So, one of the ways to pull off a Harden deal is to swap pieces to someone else who would then give Philly something want instead.
I know I keep harping on this, but I often notice people aren’t including it in their trade examples…If we did THJ for Washington as part of the Bertans/Holmes deal, we could actually absorb Zubac without sending out any salary and be under the first apron. The assumption being PJ makes what Hardaway makes or less. Of course, that would give us five centers and isn’t likely. Holmes played with Philly once upon a time. Maybe they’d take him back, but I’m not sure that is an ‘asset’ and I’m a Holmes fan.
Part of the puzzle is figuring out what Philly wants to do post Harden. They are basically a year from being just Embiid and Maxey. So do you assume a rebuild as they trade off Embiid? Do they value expiring money (Reggie) to go into the 2024 free agency market to build around Embiid and Maxey? Hard to know. And how does Dallas reduce its glut of centers if the team they are dealing with doesn’t need a center?

Five centers no power forwards. Is that really what you all think? I guess I’m the oddball here. I think PF is overcrowded with Luka, Maxi, and Omax taking all the minutes. Sure, they all CAN play other positions. But they play this one too.
Kyrie Jaden/Dante
Josh Seth
Tim Reg
Luka Maxi/Omax
Rich/Dwight Dereck
Pessimism doesn’t make you smart, just pessimistic.
