In the playoffs he was chasing guys around the perimeter and playing full court press against CP3 and Curry. A few month later he cannot stay in front of random 3rd string guards.
Thats what i meant. His defensive decline is the bigger problem than his shooting going forward.
He is playing nearly 30 min a night. And he went from a good to great point of attack NBA defender to an average or below average defender. I am not even sure if you can say with full confidence that Bullock has been better on defense than THJ.
The way he is playing more or less the entire season, i am seriously wondering what the Mavs record could have been, if Bullock would rack up DNP's with McGee. And Kidd was forced to play Green 10-15 min more, Frank 10 min off the bench and maybe 5 min here and there for Hardy.

Do we think Bullock really permanently lost 3 steps of quickness that suddenly? I don't. I'm more inclined to think there's something more going on, like maybe an undisclosed injury issue that's been part of the equation.

Point - Luka
Guard - VanVleet
Guard - Green
Forward - OG
Center - Wood
I really like Din, more than more most here, but if you could get Fred and OG with trading only one starter, you do it. This trade assumes TOR values Hardy and want size.

You'd probably have to add at least two 1sts to even get in the ballpark of getting OG and FVV for that package.

I'm not sure we have enough firsts to make that trade happen.

Sort of get the feeling there are several teams looking to deal flawed players for other flawed players.
https://sports.yahoo.com/d-angelo-russel...00585.html
The Heat have in fact registered interest in Russell, source told Yahoo Sports, but a direct deal for Lowry would appear unlikely. Lowry is just a few months away from entering the final season of his own contract worth roughly $30 million in average annual salary, and it’s hard to imagine Wolves officials being eager to extend the aging guard another exorbitant payday when he becomes extension eligible this summer — putting Minnesota in the exact situation it faced with Russell last July.
In general, there is little market around the league for point guards making that range of salary. League executives are monitoring the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns as teams in search of backcourt improvements before the deadline. The Suns were linked to Russell in 2019, and the point guard is known to have a close relationship with Phoenix All-Star scorer Devin Booker.

This is the (gettable) dude I’d want.

Could be but even if the loss in quickness turns out to be less noticeable towards the end of the season I would still say that what we saw out of Josh Green before he got hurt will still be a much better option in terms of lateral quickness/point of attack defense. Even Green's shooting was better than Bullock's shooting last season (although not at the same value yet) which is still crazy to me.
Not saying if Bullock's shooting comes back it wouldn't be nice to have both options, just saying if his shooting and defense comes back he's still quite dispensable moving forward.

Pining for Donnie is a little weird. He certainly had positive qualities, but by and large, much like modern ownerships have passed Cuban by, modern front offices had passed Donnie's capabilities long ago.

Hard to imagine an injury with the amount of minutes he is logging. I also don't think that matters much considering his long term future with the team. Players blow past him as easily as Tim...maybe more easily. At least Tim draws charges.

Could Wood and Collins be in the same frontcourt?

I wonder if Min would have interest in a veteran pg like Lowry.

I don't know about D-Lo. He hasn't really been consistent since he left Brooklyn after having his breakout year. And how would he fit with Luka?

Ant is 21. Gobert is 30. McDaniels is 22. Reid is 23. I think this is their go-forward core with Russel and Kat to be traded for a haul.
Any Takers on Russell to the Mavs?

Russell's attempts were 43% assisted last year. Usage Rate 24.5.
Brunson's attempts were 37% assisted last year. Usage Rate 21.5
Using last year as the sample, Russell's off the ball numbers are on par with Brunson. That's with Russell being primarily at the point.

I still think Min will need a ball handler/floor general to replace Russell if he is traded. Maybe a Cha third team with Rozier going to Min and THJ to Cha?
