Not his fault that’s what he was given.
RC seems to be at peace in his 2nd stint in Indiana and he has a young team that he's comfortable with that has some talent.

I think Carlisle coaches to win - it's that simple. If the organization prioritizes young players, he tries to bring them along fast (so he can win). If you give him (or any coach, really) veterans who already know the right way to play, along with expectations to win, he acts accordingly (so he can win).
I think you can point the finger a little at how he handled Green, but come on - Covid had everything crazy that season, process wise. Outside of that, I honestly don't think a single criticism of him playing or not playing young players in Dallas ever had any merit.

Dallas needs to play faster. They get very few easy buckets.

I've been thinking about this idea a lot this season. I felt (much like you but correct me if I'm wrong) that Rick was our second most valuable asset behind Luka.
Even as much as I joke about Roddy, I think that situation may be the perfect example. Rick wanted to bring Roddy along but it was more important to him to win while doing it so he trusted folks like JJB over Roddy in that 2010 season and while that may have been something the board disagreed with because they felt Roddy gave the team a chance to win, Rick saw something different and was eventually validated with JJB's play to a championship the next season. The other thing that is interesting is that Rick was actually starting Roddy the next season as well but everything got derailed by injuries. He was never trying to sabotage the Roddy's development but his first priority was to not sabotage the success of the team.
Now on the other end of the spectrum we have Kidd who seems to coach to...prove a point? Both coaches (and all coaches really) use this early part of the season to mess with rotations. With Rick, it always felt like he was trying to find a winning combination for THAT SPECIFIC GAME, not just the whole season, with Kidd...it almost feels like he's trying to show the world what DOESN'T work so that he can say that he was right about something that the media and the fans are wrong about. His post game pressers seem to feel that way at least, just feels like head games at times instead of simply trying to win games.

Yes, there needs to be some kind of balance here. Lowe mentions Dallas is going 55 in the fast lane. Ha.
If we are going to eventually going to get younger, we need a faster pace. But there can be balance there. When Luka has the ball, he typically is going to make the right decision. But it is painful to see us get a 5 on 4 and see us labor up the floor. Can we have a push the pace guard with Luka? Would that work? I think this will help some of our other wings if we can find them easy looks.
It just feels like a bad free throw shooting team, bad rebounding team, up and down three point shooting and a super slow pace isn't recipe for a lot of success.

If you watch Slovenian national team with Luka as exactly the same dominant player he is in Dallas, they play at very high pace, because the wings push the ball after rebound/turnover. In Dallas everyone just waits Luka.

That, right there, is helpful info.
It's the walking up the court that ruins the pace.

That´s cause they have guys that can actually dribble a basketball. Look what happened when Luka was nursing the wrist and Dinwiddie was ejected. Full court press, because the opposing team (rightfully) did not believe we have a 3rd guy that can actually dribble a basketball up a court. Imagine how f**** up your roster construction must be that amonst 15 professional basketball players, you have TWO that can dribble a basketball above mid-court succesfully consistently. It´s like having a U 14 youth soccer girls team and only two girls that can tie their own shoes.

Anthony Davis scores Over 50 in another Laker win. They are playing better. Even with a flawed roster, they are a tough team if Davis is elite and James is healthy.
Jose Alvarado for the Pelicans scored a career high 38. The mavs brought for a pre draft workout last draft. He wound up undrafted. Nice find.
